Launched in spring 2010, the 'Rip-off TV' campaign brought together grassroots activists on Teesside with email campaigners from across the UK. It's forced legal loan sharks to listen to their customers for the first time. It could deliver real policy changes that help people on low incomes to escape the debt trap, Closing the Gap between rich and poor.
The campaign has been featured in a guide to the best e-campaigns, and won the 'Most Inspiring Campaign' award from Voluntary Organisations North East -see the video on the left
