Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi Friends Family and Acquaintances, Im Nathan Dixon and as some of you may be aware I became an uncle to the beautiful Jemima Rose just before Christmas on the 18-12-13. Jemima arrived into this world a little earlier than expected at 29 weeks weighing a humble 2lbs 1oz after my sister was rushed into Russell's Hall hospital with high blood pressure. After many tests my sister was told she had a condition called pre-eclampsia and the baby would have to be delivered.
When i was summoned by my mom I feared the worst from the tone of the message. However I should'nt have been worried. On arrival into the ward it was obvious both my sister and Jemima had been put through there paces but they were both in great hands. The midwives, doctors, consultants and all the other staff on the ward even the scary security guard are literally worth their weight in Gold!
So this Christmas and New Year i had a lot to be thankful for..!
So in light of this i thought what can i do to repay my thanks to all those amazing people for looking after my sister and Jemima in their hour of need.
Ive had an idea of walking the width of the UK Coast to Coast for some time and what better way than doing it and hopefully raising a few pounds to give back to the ward which has helped my sister and Jemima and hopefully they this donation will go towards helping others in their situation.
I plan to walk 192 miles, Coast to Coast from Robinshood Bay across North York Moors National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lake District National Park to St Bee's. The walk will take me around 11days. I will be carrying all my clothes, food, water and shelter for this trip and what cant be carried will not be going!
I start the walk on Friday 25th April 2014 so please share this page and donate what you can.
All donations will be going direct to the ward's which have helped my sister and Jemima so that they can continue to give the amazing care to expectant and new mom's along with there new born babies.
