It is time for Collingwood Search and Selection’s Annual Charity Event. It is our turn to do a charity event this year and it has been decided that Chris Barker and Daniel Frost of Collingwood will be completing a Golf Marathon.
This will involve walking four 18-hole rounds of golf in one day playing and completing every hole. This will in total mean walking around 40km in one day.
As a Tarporley business occupying the New Portal Business Park we will be getting the support of Portal Hotel Championship Course in Tarporley where we will complete the first two rounds, starting at 6am. We will then move on to Eaton Golf Club in Waverton where we will complete the final two rounds and look to finish by 9pm.
This year Collingwood will be supporting Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Claire House Children’s Hospice opened its doors to children in December 1998 providing a service for children aged 0 - 23 years with life threatening or life limiting conditions and their families from Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man. Since 1998, Claire House has gone from strength to strength and is now providing leadership and focus for its many children, families and staff and also for supporters.
Claire House is not a sad place, it is a place for living. It provides an opportunity to share concerns and worries with people who understand. It is a place of fun and laughter, enjoyment, love and support. Claire House needs support in order to help families in the North West who are affected by children with life threatening or life limiting conditions. Although Claire House has a wide range of support, including celebrity supporters such as Wayne and Coleen Rooney funding is vitality important. Claire House need to raise £200,000 every month just to keep the doors of the hospice open.
