Powerwalking 26 miles across London for breast cancer is the BIGGEST physical challenge all of us have ever taken on and we would be lying if we said we weren't nervous!!! We are training hard, powerwalking for hours / miles each week often through windy and rainy weather. Why are we doing this?
We are committed to making a difference and we are all part of the Come Together group. Our participation in this marathon powerwalk is inspired by our lovely friends Kay & Barbara that have fought breast cancer and we dedicate this event to them.
Maria says:
'My friend Kay is an amazing lady and her smile can light up any room. She has had to fight breast cancer twice and sadly is now fighting it in her liver too. Kay is just 43 and is funny, loving and kind and I want to do all I can to ensure she has many more years cancer-free.'
Romina says:
'Barbara was just 2 months from retirement when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her courage, dignity & strength was inspiring even during the ordeal of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I'm so happy that treatment was successful and Barbara is now enjoying retirement free of cancer.'
Lesley says:
'I am doing this for Maria & Romina's friends and for all people fighting breast cancer. We need to find a cure as once we do we will be able to cure other cancers too so please help us - its so important.'
At midnight on Saturday 14th May we will walk 26 miles in our bras through London to raise money for breast cancer. We need YOUR support.
Please sponsor us and help us reach our target of £1500 for Walk the Walk to help find a cure for breast cancer. Any donation will make a difference and the government will make a contribution if you are a UK taxpayer so please tick the Gift Aid box if you are.
Thank you so much,
Romina, Maria & Leslie xxx
