Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have supported the Police Unity Tour (PUT) for the past three years, once as a rider and twice in support of the riders.
It has been an absolute privilege to be part of these events which supports the best traditions of policing - self-sacrifice for others.
I have been injured when on duty several times but always made it home - somehow! Some of my friends and colleagues were not so fortunate, hence this year I cycle again to support police survivors now and in the future.
This year I am riding to remember Detective Constable Brian Mansell Hawkes who died aged 26 on 20th November 1940 alongside his colleagues Detective Sergeant Leonard Thomas Norman, aged 34 and Detective Constable Edwin George Trump, aged 26. The officers were all killed by the direct hit of a bomb on their incident post during an air raid.
I hope you can find your way to support me and thus COP's - if everyone who knows me can contribute a couple of pounds each, thats all that is needed.
If you can offer more, great!
Please ask me if you need to know any more.
But, thank you for your support, it means a lot to me and of course to COPS.
Jim
