About our charity
Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty. Since the beginning, over 40 years ago, our focus has been on improving the lives of the poorest people. <p> To achieve our mission we work in developing countries where our programmes comprise both long term development work and responses to emergency situations. We also seek to address the root causes of poverty through our advocacy and development education work. <p> Concern Worldwide works in 28 of the poorest countries around the world. Last year alone, we worked directly with ten million people to find long-term solutions to extreme poverty. <p> Concern focuses on five key programme areas: Emergency Response, Health and Nurtition, HIV/AIDS, Livelihood Security and Education. We work directly with poor communities, asking them what would be the greatest long term improvements to their lives.
