My story

This page has been set up to honour the memory of a man who meant a great deal to many different people - Sean Doherty.

If you have been sent to this page, the chances are you are someone who was lucky enough to encounter Sean and his relentless, unyielding energy and passion. You may have only met him briefly at a gig or a game for ten minutes, but he would have probably bought you a beer and made you laugh at least twelve times during that time. He would have already been a friend, and one of the best kind: generous, caring and always willing to make time for you.

Those of you who were closer friends know that this good nature, genuine interest and respect for all that he met ran through Sean's professional as well as his social life. By working for The Core Trust (through the Westminster Drugs Project), Sean epitomised that often over-used phrase 'going the extra mile'. He worked with people who were struggling to cope with their addictions, offering them hope when all other avenues had been closed to them. His dedication, hard-work and patience changed lives for the better. Throughout the years he made a huge difference for countless people.

So, in memory of Sean and the impact that his life has had upon us all, we ask that you help to keep the work that Sean was so passionate about alive by donating on this site, whatever you can afford. The Core Trust faces challenges daily from which most of us would shirk. They strive to help people who are facing almost insurmountable physical and psychological torment as they try to beat their addictions.

This page is named 'Converted' after a song by Alabama 3, a band Sean loved. A tattoo  of Sean's
bearing the word commemorated the friends he had made and the times he had following the band and it is the same group of people who have decided to set up this page in his honour, in the hope that part of his legacy can be to continue to convert lives by improving them, through the work done by The Core Trust.

Thank you for reading.
