Well, Sharon Hulbert from our local cancer charity, Big C, has done it again! She’s persuaded us to go through the pain and the misery that is the City of Norwich Half Marathon, in aid of this fantastic local charity – and who are we to say no?
Big C was formed in Norwich back in 1980 and since then has raised over £14 million to fund cancer support, care and treatment facilities across Norfolk and Waveney. It really is a terrific charity to support – and you can find more information at http://www.big-c.co.uk/.
So, in exchange for your most valued support, we are going to join a few thousand hardy souls on Sunday 29 November (bet it’s raining, again...) to try and better our team position of 10 overall in last year’s event.
On paper, we look good – Chris Groves is a veteran of the Great North Run, Philippa Rudd has recently successfully completed her third marathon major, whilst Jinny Brook and James McCulloch have both youth and extreme determination on their side...
But of course our participation in this event isn’t all about winning (thankfully), it really is all about raising money for a Big C. So, please, dig deep.
Thank you so much for your support.
Chris, Philippa, Jinny and James
