On the 16th July 2011, 8 friends and work colleagues from the University of Kents Estates Department and Thanet Roadrunners AC will be swapping thier trainers for hiking boots to attempt the 3 peaks challenge in 24 hours. Travelling from Kent to Scotland we will then attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours including the drive in between. Bare in mind that many of us have no or little experience of a mountain environment, and the speed to which we will have to complete each climb with no sleep, this really is going to be some daunting yet exciting challenge.
We will be raising money for Cerebral Palsy Care Kent in Rochester and the Friends of the Kingfisher Centre in Broadstairs. Both of these centres offer specialist care and educational services to disabled children. Two of our team members have close family relatives, suffering from cerebral palsy, and both received exceptional care when attending these centres.
Please help to motivate and support us by donating to these great causes.
