Bliss, the special care baby charity, provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. Founded 30 years ago, they offer guidance and information at a critical time in families' lives. They also fund ground-breaking research and campaign for babies to receive the best possible level of care regardless of when and where they are born.

I first became aware of Bliss when Chloe was born 4 weeks early, after a routine check up turned into a C-section delivery just days later.  Chloe had breathing difficulties and spent 2 weeks hooked up to all kinds of equipment in special care between St. Helier & Epsom hospitals.  Being new to this parent thing was scary enough when everything was going to plan, but this really knocked us for six.  Bliss do such great work and provide fantastic support for families who go through situations like this and much worse.  So, I really can't think of a better cause to run for.  And with Chloe now 2, I need to be able to run a marathon to keep up with her!
