Craig McCallum: Corrieyairack Challenge 2008: A Mid Life Crisis subtitled, "oh my god, what have I let myself in for" In memory of Gary Strachan. (he's not dead yet but I'm gonna kill him for convincing me this was a good idea. If i make it......) Firstly, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to visit this page. This may be the start of the mid life crisis for me, but at least the funny tight clothes are for a purpose and I didn't buy a sports car, but a push bike. Secondly, before just throwing some (lots of) cash my way could I please trouble you to take a moment to read the weblinks to the challenge and the charity below, and to read the following blurb. Hopefully then you'll be compelled to throw even bigger sums of cash my way? Please? The Inachoobz: On the 5th July this Summer the Team 532, The Inachoobz (Russell Thomson, Gary Whitelaw and myself) are all attempting the Corrieyairack Challenge on behalf of the Speyside Handicapped Holidays Trust. The Challenge www.corrieyairack.org This is a mountain bike ride consisting of a wee hilly section over the historic Corrieyairack Mountain Pass, all 2,350 feet and 17 miles of it, followed by a further 26 gruelling road miles from Garva Bridge to Kincraig. This 43 mile chore will hurt! As you'll see on his webpage,(http://www.justgiving.com/russellthomson), Team Mate Russell intends to do this sub 4 hours, I, however, intend to finish. ALIVE The Charity www.badaguish.org Speyside Handicapped Holidays Trust based at Badaguish Cairngorm Outdoor Centre is a small independent charity helping children and adults with learning difficulties and other special needs enjoy 24 hour respite care and activites in the Cairngorms National Park
The Plea for cash Blah blah, negative equity, blah blah ,credit crunch, blah blah, diesil at £1.20/litre, blah blah, cost of living etc etc Yeah Yeah, We are all in the same boat, and we all know all that! Just gimme the donations, I don't care how much! Make someone else's life better! Go on, you know you can afford more! Just Do It! See foot of page for other BBRCE participants you might want to sponsor as well as/instead of me. a message from the web providers: "Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Speyside Handicapped Holidays Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you."
Many thanks for your support. The small matter of Marshalling-"you too can join the fun" We still need a Marshall for the Inachoobz, this involves standing around in the beautiful Scottish Highlands in the beautiful summer weather ensuring that Mr. Motorcar and Mr. Bike don't fall out.
