Our history
In 1974, disabled man Noel Crane wrote to the producers of the television programme Crossroads to express his concern about the portrayal of the needs of a character with a disability called Sandy Richardson. ATV took Noel on as an advisor for disability issues and he shared with them his concern about the lack of support for people like his Mum who was caring for him. The company gave the first £10,000 to set up a respite service in Rugby.
