Story
Sometimes prayers are not enough. Only help on the ground will do. As a result of unprecedented rainfall this monsoon so far 164 people have died, several are missing and at least 85000 people have been displaced. They are the worst floods in the state of Kerala in nearly a century.
Named as one of the ten paradises of the world by National Geographic Traveler, there is no telling if this beautiful land will survive this disaster. Right now, the beaches, backwaters, hills and wildlife are all under threat. Most of all, the people who made sure that every visitor to the state felt welcome and always left with good, if not great memories are fighting for their lives and livelihoods.
Will the water recede? Can the people rise above the water and rebuild their lives? Perhaps they can. With a little help from you maybe they will. If you have ever visited Kerala before, you know what I am talking about. Help Kerala, please.
