And so it's here.. The big 3 0.. I would like to make this birthday significant, make it mean something.. There are 3 little angels that I would give my life for just to see them blow out a birthday candle.. So I have decided in memory of my beautiful children and to make my Stephen proud, I am going to do something to mark the occasion.. But what? Well, I am not the sportiest, fittest or most dedicated of people, but one thing I have always enjoyed and always pictured doing with my children one day is swimming.. Most of my favourite childhood memories are on holidays with my family and playing at the pool together. I only wish I could have done this with my own little family. So I have decided to do a sponsored swim for them, every length of the pool I accomplish is in memory of them. I have set myself a target of 30K by the day of my 30th birthday.. 22nd April.. I would be so grateful if you could show your support and help me to reach my target, money would be great, every penny going towards this great cause that is so incredibly close to my heart. However more importantly than any money I would also love if anyone has a spare 30 minutes any weekday between 12.30 and 1.30 that they would come and join me for a swim and a chat.
All money raised will go towards the building costs of a new bereavement suite to be built at Causeway Maternity Ward. This is a much needed facility that would bring comfort to families in their darkest hours, allowing them to spend time with their baby without being so close to the main ward, being in a room less clinical and more homely, private and family friendly where dad's/ partners can also stay with mums and their baby. And each family can have more much needed quality time together.
