Story
It is one year since local residents came together to form Cambridge Calais Refugee Action Group (now Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group) as a compassionate response to the refugee crisis in Europe. But now the situation in Calais is worse than ever.
As well as fundraising and collecting donations to provide food, building materials and other aid for the occupants of the Calais Jungle camp we have taken 250 people on convoys to the camp over the past 12 months.
Now the French Government has cleared the camp but many refugees still remain in the area including large numbers of unaccompanied minors. So we are launching a fresh appeal to provide food - and other essential items needed - for the refugees there. We are aiming to raise £10,000.
Please spare what you can to help feed the victims of this crisis – people who have escaped civil war and terrorism to seek the safety and shelter we, in the UK, take for granted.

8 years agoThank you to everyone who has donated so far - we're so excited that we've now raised 20% of our total thanks to you on our Crowdfunding site. We have also raised £1,600 offline for our appeal. The camp at Calais is set to be demolished in a matter of days, and the refugees there evicted. No-one knows exactly what will happen, but we will be there to support those displaced and our funds will buy food, and other essential items for the established volunteer groups on the ground.

A small donation to help you carry on with your admirable work. If I were a lot younger, I would join in.
