Story
The play area was victim to an arson attack on April 12th this year. The fire has completely destroyed the well loved play area.
I have spoken to the parish council who own the field, and they are delighted to hear what we are doing. They have informed me that the play area was insured, and will be revised and reinstated! However, they are also aware that there are considerable concerns from the community that it will be vandalised again, so I have agreed that the money we raise will go towards the funding of security on the field.
My family and I have lived close by for 7 years and we were so pleased when the playground was installed on the Queen Elizabeth ll Playing fields a few years ago. We visit a few times a week and more in the summer months. The community surrounding us and even further make use of the park on a regular basis and during the summer months it's an absolute hive of activity, and has a really great atmosphere!
It would be really great to raise some money together as a community to help reinstate and improve this treasured part of the parish to its former glory, as soon as we can!
