Hi, my daughter, Helena, and I are going to walk the 50 mile Minster Way from Beverley to York in October. We are doing this for two really great causes. First Helena will be going to Tanzania next year with Woldgate Sixth Form College to help with a number of projects that will make life a little easier for some of the people of that country. To do this she has to fund her own travel.
Any money raised will be split 50-50 with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Earlier this year my brother Colin was tragically killed in a road traffic accident. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called and Col was transferred from the scene near Driffield to Hull Royal Infirmary in just over 5 minutes, a distance by road of about 20 miles. Unfortunately this was not enough to save Col but it could be crucial for others in similar circumstances.
Helena and I are far from hardened walkers (despite our surname) and so a 50 mile walk is quite a challenge, but I'm sure you'll agree for good causes. Everything donated will be split 50-50 between each cause but if you want all your donation to go just one of the causes please say so in a private message when you donate and thanks in advance for your donation, any amount no matter how big or small is appreciated.
