In April 2017 the World Governing Body for Cheerleading (the ICU) will introduce a new division to the Cheerleading World Championships: ParaCheer. The ParaCheer division will see physically disabled and nondisabled athletes competing together on integrated teams, demonstrating on the world stage that disability is not a barrier to performing at the highest level in this fast paced, acrobatic sport.

As a member of Team England ParaCheer's management staff my role is to support the athletes and coaches through the training process, and to be involved in the administration of getting the team out to the World Championships in Florida USA.

The team is currently unfunded, with all athletes, coaches and management staff having to raise their own funds to train, travel and stay out in the US.

I am raising money to cover the cost of my travel and accommodation. Anything raised above my target amount will go into the team funds to support the other athletes and coaches in their own fundraising endeavours.

Having management staff out with the team to support them while at the championships is critical. The management are involved in supporting the access needs of the athletes as well as organising the logistics of getting the team to the venues and arenas.
