The Flaming Hot Stallions is a 2 man team(Christopher Agnew & Neil McCutcheon) that are driving a £200 VW Passat from Glasgow to Italy and back to raise money for the Wishaw General Neonatal Unit.

We have chosen to raise money for the Wishaw General Neonatal unit as this is a place close to Christopher's heart.

Christopher's son Sam was born at 37.5 weeks via emergency C section due to Christopher's wife Jennifer suffering severe pre-eclampsia. As a result of this the doctors and nurses had to fight for hours to save Sam's life. None of Sam's organs were working due to the trauma at birth. Sam was put on a ventilator and had therapeutic hypothermia carried out. Upon monitoring Sam for a few days they noticed Sam had very little brain activity, so Sam was then sent to Yorkhill Children's hospital for both a MRi and EEG scan. The results showed Sam had a bleed to a few sections of the brain, at this moment Christopher and his wife were unaware of how this would affect Sam in the upcoming months and years. Sam spent a further 4 weeks in the neonatal unit and then got home to mum and dad.

Sam's development was delayed and wasn't meeting his milestones, at the age of 2 Sam was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. At the age of 3 all the family's dreams came true when Sam took his first steps. Sam has came on leaps and bounds throughout the years and is a happy and health little boy. From 6 weeks old Sam has had occupational therapy and physio therapy, Sam attended an additional supports needs nursery and now attends an additional supports needs base within a school.

Sam wouldn't have came on aswell or maybe wouldn't have been here today if it wasn't for the amazing staff at the Wishaw General Neonatal unit and for this we are forever thankful.
