Story
A friend of mine has been living with chronic disabilities and without income of her own for over a year, hounded by debt collectors, evicted from her residence, and even denied access to trans-related health care.
She has had to severely overdraft her bank account in order to pay for food and medication. Fighting depression and difficulty meeting her basic physical and psychological needs, she has been nonetheless making momentous effort to apply and interview for jobs that don't conflict with her disabilities. During this time, she still greatly needs our help.
Our goal is to keep her alive and well by ensuring she can pay for medication and other needs, and to pay off her outstanding debts.
Donations on this page go directly to her bank account. As with other fundraisers I've organized on friends' behalf, she has requested anonymity for her own safety, but I'll be posting updates about her situation as I receive them. Thank you for any contribution you can make, whether monetary or by spreading word of my friend's predicament.

5 years agoImportant news: My friend was able to find work for a short time, but was illegally put on payroll as a minor instead of an adult, and then very shortly laid off, citing reasons directly related to her disability. In other words, despite doing everything she can, she's still under the thumb of institutional ableism, and still in great need of help. If you have any means to spread word, please do. Thanks for your support.
