Hello, I am Abdul Bashith. A current undergraduate at Coventry university. I am an international student from Sri lanka. I am in an urgency of raising £15,400 to pay owed tuition fees of my final year of university.

I was accepted at Coventry university in 2015 to study Aerospace system engineering (BEng). My parents are hard working & middle classed with aspiration of making their son an engineer by means of spending all penny they possess. They had no way of funding the entire journey as an international student at the cost of over £15 400 per year. The high academic achievements that I got in my college convinced my parents to sponsor for my higher education as much as they could. They sold all the properties & wealth that they had to pay my tuition so far, and they do not possess any belongings right now.

Right from the beginning my plan was to earn the final year tuition fee through a work placement. Unfortunately, though I maintain high academic attainment, due to the competitive nature of the job placements I was unable to perform any.

As an international student, I am only allowed to work 20 hours. I work part-time at a super market and save every penny to settle my tuition fees. But still I couldn’t save as much as I wanted because I had to bear my living cost also all by myself. And I was parallelly working hard at my studies by maintaining higher grades.

The university informed me that If I do not settle the fees that I have to pay, I will not be able to enrol into my final year and that as an international student, my visa would be cancelled on 10th of October 2019. I worked so hard and still working to overcome this situation and applied for scholarships, but none has come through. My father being the only person working in the entire family has 3 other children to fend for in the little income that he earns. Nevertheless, he is still working constantly to save what he can, to support me.

If I cannot complete this course due to my financial setbacks just being a year away from completing my degree in Aerospace system engineering (BEng). Mine as well as my parents dreams will be shattered. All the effort, money and hard work that my parents put to raise the fee they had to pay for me so far will be of mere no use. The thought that I might not be able to realise my dream is simply devastating.
