It is with great sadness and aching hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Grandfather, Alhaj Abdur’Rahman Khalisadar (rahmatulahi alaihe).

May the Almighty have mercy on his kind soul and grant him the highest rank in Jannah. Ameen.

Our Grandfather was a person of true compassion and selflessness. Not only was he a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle but also an exemplary pillar of the community - going above and beyond to help others, be it a neighbour, relative or stranger- he made no distinction. His love reached the hearts of many and in sha Allah those hearts will testify for him on the day of Qiyamah. Since his passing, there has been an overwhelming outpouring of love and a wonderful array of stories and beautiful memories - unspoken good deeds and numerous renditions of his incomparable ability to touch peoples lives.

Abu Hurayrah, rahimahullah, reported that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for 3 types: an ongoing sadaqah (ongoing charity), a knowledge (of Islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'a for him."

In loving memory of our Grandfather, please join us in continuing his legacy by donating towards building lifesaving community water wells in impoverished Bangladesh which will act as ongoing Sadaqa on his behalf.

In developing countries like Bangladesh, women walk a grueling 8 miles (40,000 steps) every day, just to collect water that is making them sick. Water-borne diseases are in fact a leading cause of death in the world. So please, in this holy month of Ramadan, let us join in saving lives by donating towards the cause, for it is said that “if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind…” [Surah al-Maa'idah (5:32)].

Give the gift of water and reap the rewards for you and you loved ones in this blessed month for Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ ) said: “The best charity is giving water to drink”. Please support us in reaching our goal by donating generously, no matter how big or small.

Finally, we thank Allah for blessing us with a Grandfather who knew nothing but love. So many broken hearts are left behind, but in our deepest despair our greatest comfort lies in knowing that he is now at peace with his Maker, in sha Allah.

As time passes our tears will dry, our hearts will mend, but our love and admiration for our Grandfather will never end. His loss is incomprehensible, though someday the grief may fade, his mark will live on.Even with our heavy hearts, we know that we’ve been blessed. To have been one among those whose lives he touched with warmth and love so infinite.
