Story
The kidney disease burden in Ghana is rising and currently it is estimated to be about 17 per cent of the population. Each dialysis session in Korle-Bu costs about GHS 260. Most patients require 3 sessions a week. Many cannot afford the number of sessions they need. First Sky Group, a construction firm, is funding a kidney transplant scheme which starts later this year. Most transplant patients will require about 6 months of dialysis treatment before receiving their transplant. Please let us help a few patients on their journey.
