    Story

ABGC is a charitable initiative started by Sanya Masood and Sophie Harrold, two friends from Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Founded in response to The Homeless Period (a campaign that raised awareness about the lack of government provision of menstrual products to homeless shelters and refuges), we collect donations of menstrual products and nappies to distribute to women’s organisations around the country.

We launched our first campaign in July 2015, collecting donations from friends, family and local supporters to personally drop off at The Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool. Since then, we have delivered thousands of donations to organisations in London, Stevenage, Luton, Birmingham and Nottingham.

In 2017, we were lucky enough to partner with eco-friendly menstrual producer producer and donor, Freda, and in 2018, we were delighted to assist the national Red Box Project via their local collection in Hackney, gathering donations for schoolgirls who would otherwise go without menstrual products.

During campaign #9, you wonderful crowdfunders raised £110 to support Trevi House in Plymouth - all of which went towards menstrual products and nappies! We'd love to match that amount for...

    Campaign #10!

ABGC’s tenth campaign is supporting Sufra NW London, a community food bank and kitchen working on the frontline in the fight against poverty. Alongside providing food, Sufra also offers a wide range of services and community-based activities that empower individuals an dfamilies to overcome poverty and social isolation.

As well as our usual pads and tampons, we will also be collecting nappies for Sufra. If you'd like to donate products, you can do so personally (get in touch via ABGC’s Facebook page for a delivery address); alternatively, supporters can donate products via our Amazon Wishlist page, or on the Freda donation page (all links below!).

This time, we're also crowdfunding for monetary donations, which will be given straight to Sufra once the campaign closes. Donations of money will be used on additional products such as toilet roll, soap, razors, toothbrushes, baby milk, baby wipes, towels, blankets and anything else required by the Food Bank. Funds will also be put towards Mother & Baby kits for new or expectant mothers, which contain items such as bottles, clothes, rattles, teething rings and other essentials. For a full list of these items, please get in touch!

Thanks for all your support! x
