In May 2019, I'm undertaking a project in a deprived area of Fiji which aims to help early years children and primary school students develop a basic way of life. My project is in close association with a charity called Think Pacific Foundation, who work in remote villages within Fiji, where one third of children grow up in poverty and distressingly only 45% have access to safe drinking water.

Within the one month duration, i will encounter tough and challenging conditions as I deliver a successful government backed project to support local children living in poverty. I shall also provide basic and fundamental resources to enable to work we do can be sustainable after the month duration.

Through this project, my main aim is to get a deeper understanding into a different culture and way of life to mine. Furthermore, through my education and personal interests I hope to make a personal difference to the children. I aim to come away from my comfort zone and challenge myself daily to get the most out of this unique experience.

To achieve my goal of supporting the project and volunteering in Fiji, I am aiming to raise £800 toward the project. Over one third of this funding will be used to directly support the children in Fiji by getting resources and equip the schools in order to make the work we do sustainable and achieve the long term educational activities in Fiji.
