Story
I will be attempting the Devizes to Westminster canoe race this Easter with my school friend Jonathan. The race is 125 miles, equivalent to over 4 ½ marathons and is split over 4 days and will be paddled in a 15-year-old kayak. We have been training 3 days a week for over a year now and had hoped to complete the race last year, but due to adverse weather conditions the 2nd half of the race had to be cancelled due to dangerously high river flow. Despite this disappointing finish to last years race we are even more determined to finish the race this year and hope to be placed within the top 10 out of hundreds of other competitors.
We will be kayaking to be raise money for The Jemima Layzell Trust which helps fund the provision of treatment and care for young people suffering because of brain injury as well as for Devizes Canoe club . We would like to ask you for a donation towards our fundraising efforts.
