Our daughter Addie tragically lost her battle with cancer on the 1 February 2018. She was just 16 years old.

Addie was first diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in 2011. Surgery and several months of chemo saw Addie recover. However, five years later in 2016, Addie was rushed into hospital following a seizure, tests later revealed Addie had a high-grade inoperable brain tumour. More shockingly, the brain tumour was a primary cancer unrelated to the first cancer. Genetic testing revealed Addie had Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS), usually an inherited familial predisposition to the disease.

We want to honour Addie by setting up a Foundation in her name to boost research into high grade brain tumours and better treatments for brain cancer. We are currently working with the Brain Tumour Charity to achieve this. We are also working with The George Pantziarka TP53 Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting families with LFS. Currently they are working towards implementing a national surveillance and screening program, urging for additional research in to LFS and other genetic cancer predispositions.
