A Good Year To Run - In Memory of Sheelagh Steels

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read our story. Sadly, my mum died suddenly in June last year taken far too early at just 56. I, my wife and a good friend Andrew Cook, have decided that it was time to turn our sadness into something positive and try to give something back in her memory.

In 2016 my mum was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, after almost completing her treatment she sadly died very suddenly. So in my mums memory we intend on undertaking a number of fundraising events throughout the year, raising money for the Oncology Day Unit at Peterborough City Hospital.

In order to raise money for the Unit, we will be taking part in The Perkins Great Eastern Half Marathon (October 2018), plus another Half Marathon (event to be confirmed), with the aim to complete our first full marathon in early 2019 (fingers crossed for the London Marathon).
