Hi, I am trying to help raise some money for the hospital that have been and continue treating my little sister Alexis Georgia.

Alexis was born with Spina Bifida - Myelomeningocele, Hydrocephalus (with a fitted shunt) and Arnold Chiari Malformation type 2. When she was born she was rushed straight to Birmingham Children's Hospital where she was kept in on a baby ward. Two days later she had to undertake a 9 and a half hour operation, where they attempted to close up her back. A week later, they realised that her back was not closed completely and Alexis had to have a skin graft/plastic surgery on her back for a second time which was successful. Then, a further two weeks later, she had to have a shunt fitted in her head properly to drain the build up of fluid. Alexis stayed at Birmingham Children's Hospital for 5 weeks to recover.

Alexis is now 2 years old and has just had be readmitted for an emergency operation to replace her shunt which had blocked and wasn't draining any fluid from her brain.

We want to raise money for Birmingham Children's hospital for all they have done for our family by looking after and treating Alexis when she needed it. I am so thankful (more than can be expressed) to everyone at the hospital from the nurses, doctors, consultants and physiotherapists who have helped to keep my little sister alive and well, living the best life she can do for someone with her conditions. Without all their help Alexis wouldn't have survived and for that we will always be grateful and just want to try to give a little back to them after everything they've done for us.
