I work in an Emergency Department normally however in my free time I also respond to emergency calls in the community. Sometimes the ambulance services are incredibly busy and are not able to attend as quickly as they would like to. When this happens local medics and first aiders are called to help while an ambulance is on its way. The equipment is very expensive but can save lives.
