In the summer of 2019 my school has organised a 4 week trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. 3 of those weeks involve voluntary work helping the local communities with building projects, in particular on a community school and establishing a tree nursery to help with reforestation. £3,000 of the cost of the trip goes directly to help the Ecuadorians. It is this portion that I am aiming to raise by donations. This trip means a lot to me as I have always been interested in nature. I hope to use the experience to influence others to undertake similar work. To help raise funds for this my Dad and I are doing the annual London to Brighton cycle ride on the 16th September. It is a 54-mile route from South London to Madeira Drive in Brighton with a large hill at the 48-mile mark. Neither of us have cycled as far before, and we don't have road bikes, so it'll be a real challenge for us.
