I am a 17 year old student and i will be running a half marathon to raise money towards educating the children of The Gambia. As part of a group, with 3 friends I will be going out to The Gambia to work with the Lisa Kent Trust to teach English in local schools in November 2018. The Gambia has a literacy rate of just 50% and is the smallest country in Africa. The trust has already helped 2000 children access an education and built two schools, we hope that we too can help these children to eventually achieve the qualifications that they need to access a job with good enough pay to support their families.
