I have the privilege of representing the UK at the 24th World Scout Jamboree as part of the International Service Team, or IST. The 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place in West Virginia in the summer of 2019 and is being jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States. Over 40,000 Scouts will be attending, and as part of the IST, I will be helping run the jamboree. All members of the International Service Team are volunteers, and I, therefore, have to fund the experience myself. Anything you can give will be much appreciated.

IST members are expected to work hard and fulfil a vital role in motivating and supporting participants and providing services, program and facilities. Some roles may require long working hours or working at night. IST members will help ensure that all young people attending the Jamboree leave with a wider view of the world, a deeper understanding of North America and a renewed commitment to Scouting. As a member of the IST, I will be working with the rest of the UK Contingent to deliver a fantastic experience for the young people attending the Jamboree and ensure their development, whilst learning new skills as part of my own development.

I will be running various fundraising events prior to the Jamboree including cake sales, competition quiz sheets and a sponsored overnight stay in HMP Shepton Mallet Prison on the 7th September.
