I‘ve recently been diagnosed with Autism at 21yrs after struggling with day to day life of trying to fit in as a “normal“ person. I landed a great job at the end of last year which gave me confidence & a bright future to look forward to but, unfortunatley i’m now out of work. I didn’t ”fit in” as a “normal” person. I’m trying to support myself by standing up for what is right, who says you have to be a “normal setting”? Thats boring! I am quirky, loving, caring and loyal, I see good in everyone, why could people not see that in me and show patience & empathy. I’m trying to raise Autism awareness in the workplace as companys cannot continue to ignore the identity of people who need their understanding & support.
