Recently my family very suddenly lost my grandad. I completed the whole hog a couple of years ago and he stated he would love to do something like that with me.

In the time leading up to his passing, our family travelled out to spain to be with him and to spend time with him.

One of the greatest helps through this tough time was mabs. Mabs is a charity out in spain that grandad used to volunteer for. the charity owns a villa and with all donated furniture and equipment opened this up to grandad to make him comfortable in his last days. Without this he would have remained in a noisy hospital not speaking the same language instead we had family meals together every night. We were able to sleep by grandads bedside and the nursing staff were there 24 hours a day. They all spoke english and treated grandad and our family with the utmost respect. I cannot thank them enough for what they did to make grandad more comfortable and what they did for our family during this time - so this year i am running the whole hog again - without my grandad at the finishing line waiting but instead to try and make a donation to mabs to thank them for their amazing kindness and compassion

Even if you can only donate a couple of pounds, everything is appreciated for such an amazing charity that made such an amazing difference in a tough time.
