I am raising money for a trip of a lifetime to Swaziland & Kruger in the summer of 2019. As part of the trip we will be helping in a community project, I’ll be contributing at a Neighbourhood Care Point, which is a location embedded within a community where communities as a whole care for orphaned children (of which Swaziland has a particularly high number - about 180,000 due to HIV).

My project could involve tasks such as painting, construction, refurbishment, teaching, tree planting, conservation and agricultural work but there will be numerous opportunities to get involved in other activities too - from fetching water, to learning how to make maize meal, teaching English, running sports matches and helping out around the village. I'll get an opportunity to spend time and help a local community and really engage with local culture.

I Volunteer at 1st Glinton Rainbows and find volunteering really rewarding in my area, so as soon as I had this opportunity to travel to a new place and volunteer to help people who really need our help, I couldn't think of anything I would rather be a part of!
