In July, I will be travelling to Mbeya in Tanzania with my school to work with the charity, Grassroots. I will be involved in feeding programmes, visiting schools and other activities with children over the course of ten days. Tanzania is one of the world's poorest nations and Grassroots aims to help children suffering with Malaria and AIDS. The charity provides support to children who are orphans or do not have a secure home, by ensuring they have access to education, food and clothing.

In preparation for the trip, I need to raise funds for my flights and accommodation. In addition to raising money from bake sales and school fairs, I am participating in a swimathon on 24 April, with a target of 100 lengths (one length representing 75 km of the total 7,500 km distance from the UK to Tanzania!).
