Story
Ambrose O‘Shea of Dublin is well know to the international Neil Diamond fan community. He is one of the organisers of the popular Facebook page ‘Real Neil Diamond Fans’ and a supporter of Neil Diamond tribute artists around the world. On first name terms with most of Neil‘s band and crew he has been featured many times in Ireland’s press and TV items in as Ireland’s biggest Neil Diamond superfan and collector of Neil Diamond memorabelia.
Ambrose posted the other day that his treasured limited edition Neil Diamond wall plate has been broken! This appeal is to the friends of Ambrose and looks for each of us to contribute $20 towards a replacement plate. There are two available on Ebay and it would cost around $250 to replace Ambrose’s plate and arrange postage to Ireland. I propose to buy the plate and have it delivered to Eydie Ruth in the States. Once we get the full funding Eydie will arrage posting to Ambrose with a good-will message from us all! Regards and best wishes! Bob Drury

5 years agoOk, EBay have given a full refund. I’ve ordered the only plate now available on EBay (US) and begged that it be insured and packaged really well! Total including customs into the EU was just shy of £250... so covered by your kind donations. I’ll keep you all informed and do a proper breakdown of costs once the plate is safely with our mutual friend! Bob

5 years agoHi all. The plate arrived today from the States but was only packaged in a Jiffy bag, unfortunately it arrived smashed into three pieces! I immediately contacted the seller who has emailed back to say that he will “sort it out in a few days”. EBay will not step in until he has had a few days to respond although I have lodged a complaint and refund request. There are other plates on EBay but I won’t buy one until he refunds. If it doesn’t work out your donations will be returned... please bear with me, I will keep you updated. Regards Bob
