    Story

Amity is a Nottingham based project with the aim of Community Cohesion, bringing different people together in order to better understand each other.

One of the aims we have is to empower Women from the Muslim Community to help with the challenges they face and help them to contribute to society. the idea is that by different people / communities coming together this could be achieved.

We have listened to hundreds of women who told us about the negativity they have received . we feel it is important to be able to tell your story, and the project we setting up is about giving a platform for people to tell their story, and have others hear and identify with the story.

The Money we raise will be for events we are putting on and growing our project. we have a few events in the pipeline, using the Arts , story-telling and Poetry, all to promote community cohesion and empower Muslim Women.

our first event is Breathing As Muslim Women https://www.facebook.com/events/405203453600056/

this is the 1st time Muslim Women will be celebrating International Women's Day in Nottingham. it really is a unique festival that we are doing. Not only does this event empower Muslim Women, but it will also bring other women to show solidarity with Muslim Women. Community Cohesion is at the hearty of Amity's events. At the heart of this event is a platform for sharing the common struggles, goals and visions of women

This giving page is about raising funds for this event and our next event, which will be the Nottingham Poetry festival. the aim again will be about empowering Muslim Women through Poetry.

we also are planning other Community Cohesion events, such as bringing together The Caribbean Community and Muslim Community for food and chat during Ramadan, as well as other creative ways to bring people together.

The Money we raise will help us continue our work for the rest of the year Amity , this is our Facebook page.

last Year we were called 'Muslim Artists and Poets Collective, but we decided to change our name to a Simple 'Amity'. here are examples of our work:

we need you guys out there to help us reach and go beyond our target on our crowdfund. Please donate and share our work
