World Challenge is an organisation that aims to help young people build the social and physical skills needed to thrive in adulthood.

In 2020, I will be travelling with World Challenge to Northern Tanzania for 3 weeks with other students fom my school. During this time, we will be tested both physically and mentally, but will also be rewarded greatly when we witness the positive effects that our 6 day project, involving conservation, construction or cultural work, will have on the community who are not as privelleged as some of us. We will also be undertaking a trek, to the summit of one of Tanzania‘s mountains, and exploring new cultures and wildlife. I will be going on this trip during the summer before I hope to go to university, so I feel as though it is a great opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zones, and learn to be away from home for a long period of time, in preparation for university. I hope to raise the money for this trip through a part time job, donations, and events. I am planning on participating in the Plymouth 10k run in October this year, as well as an abseil, and organising things such as bake sales and raffles.
