    Story

I don’t really know where to begin when it comes to this lady she was always proud of me ALWAYS ! Not a day went by when I had my daughter that this woman didn’t call to my house, buy us things, phone us she helped me with gas / electric /rent/bills/shopping/birthday parties/christmas, bailed me out in many ways  paid for holidays treated us all, constantly thinking about somebody else instead of herself but out of all of these things the one thing I am most grateful for is that she loved my children unconditionally from the moment she laid eyes on them the look she has when she watches them is only a look a nan can have I smile watching her face light up as she watches them it hasn’t changed since 14/09/10 & nothing will ever change except our love grows stronger everyday for her & now it’s our turn to treat her for once and look after her, my love for this woman is never ending she’s one of a kind can’t even begin to think what me and my kids would have done without her in our lives she is a once in a lifetime kind of person she has ears that truly listen, arms that always hold love that’s never ending & a heart that’s made of pure gold we are truly blessed I love you my best friend & mumMy mother Jackie was diagnosed on October 11th 2018 with NETS cancer (neuroendocrine tumour)  since late 2016 Jackie has undergone multiple tests including MRI scans, CT Scans, and blood tests only to be told that they can’t seem to find what’s causing her excruciating pain. In October 2018 a tumour was found at the entrance of her bowel and mum was called in to be told the news, hearing the word we all dread to hear “Cancer” was the last thing we had all expected. Mum was then sent home with little information on what she had been diagnosed with feeling helpless, scared and alone in a very dark , unknown place.Everything seemed to be planned very quickly and sufficiently but they never seemed to follow through for her every appointment was getting delayed and pushed back leaving her even longer in the dark on this horrible disease and feeling like giving up. Jackie then had to then travel to London for a pet scan where after further analysis additional nodules  were discovered in her abdomen and her liver.3 months have came and gone not knowing just questioning everything, still now in January she is left waiting for her surgery date to be arranged to remove part of the main tumour on her bowel it just really feels like luck is not on her side.I am looking to help my mum raise some funds to  make precious memories before it’s too late.  She will not be getting much help with costs when she is off work post surgery as she is self employed so doesn’t get sick pay and still has a house with bills to pay & to know she is worrying over her funeral costs breaks my heart if the inevitable happens, I need to know she will be looked after. I recently encouraged my mum  to make a bucket list as she isn’t in the best place at the minute but she keeps shrugging it off saying that she doesn’t have the money to do anything, I knew she could really do with something to keep her occupied so after keeping on at her she has given in and started her list and my aim is to make sure she achieves as many as possible in the time she has left with us but without the funds it’s just not possible.Jackie is due to Undergo surgery in January  to remove some of the tumour, abdomen & gaul bladder and started sandostatin  injections in November which is aimed to keep the tumour from growing we understand now to what extent the tumour has taken over her body and that her tumour is not curable, we also know that money can not  heal but it will definitely help my Mum make the most of the time she has left here with us without having to struggle, Jackie is a loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren who she adores and dotes upon we need to make these days the best for her  thankyou for any help. Thank you for reading my mums story.
