    Story

Fundraising this cause will allow me and a team of North London A-Level students in summer 2019, to teach at a school in Andranasoa, a remote and rural region of Madagascar where the community is extremely poor. The majority of locals support themselves as tenant farmers, often renting land from people who live in the cities, surviving on bare basics such as rice, a few groceries and occasional zebu meat. Living conditions are poor and malnutrition is common.

However with your support the next generation will be able to utilise education and break the poverty cycle by improving students' chances to achieve their full potential. Funding this educational program will empower the students of the local secondary school, preparing them for the exams that provide a chance of going to university, working beyond the confines of the village or developing local facilities and improving village infrastructure. Education is vital in benefiting the community as a whole. Your money will also contribute to the building of a new classroom, able to accommodate more students and enable our team to teach classes to the local students in a type of 'summer school'.

The greater access to language skills that we will provide will also enable them to work in the tourism industry which will make Madagascar a more appealing place for tourists and provide opportunities to the next generation of the Malagasy people. Education is also a vital way to protect the local environment and protect local resources.

Thank you for supporting the cause.
