Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
On the 4th August 2018, I will be taking part in a self funded Skydive to raise funds for The Uganda Forever Home Project. I have set a target of £750 in donations to support this amazing project. If you would like to make a donation, no matter how big or small, it would go a long way in helping me to achieve my target which will make a huge difference to the on going success of the project.
The Uganda Forever Home Project:
In 2008 TJX started supporting disadvantaged cotton growing communities in Uganda. To help parents increase their incomes, we developed a Sustainable Trade Programme for cotton, coffee, cocoa and crafts.
In 2011 this Sustainable Trade Programme became Rwenzori Trading Company. Since 2011 we are working with over 6000 families within the programme and this enables them to increase their income so they can afford to send their children to school. Our aim is to help parents ensure their children complete primary education.
Since the Rwenzori Sustainable Trade project began there has been a 40% increase in children completing primary school education.
So what is the situation at present.
Current Situation: They rent a building which is too small, very expensive and not fit for purpose
Future Vision: To purchase a “Forever Home” Trade Centre so that the Ugandan communities can continue trading and expand their clientele.
The Trade Centre will be held in trust for the 12 communities
It will provide a safe and adequate place for the workers to train, pack orders, hold meetings and all activities which will enable them to continue trading successfully.
