Over 250,000 young people in England have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC) and over 1 million other children are entitled to some form of Special Educational Needs support. Decades of progress towards an inclusive model of education, where as far as possible, all children are educated together, is under severe threat with funding shortfalls. The Inclusion Faculty at Sydenham School brilliantly promotes a CARE model (Confidence, Achievement, Resilience and Empathy) and we want to help ensure the small team is given as much parental support as possible at a time where nationally the number of EHC students attending state secondary schools has decreased by 8% over the last 8 years. The money we raise will help provide laptops and software that will help the team break down barriers to learning as they care for the individual needs of girls.
