Story
Thank you for visiting my page, and for taking the time to read the story of a very special young lad called Atticus.
I am taking part in The Great South Run on 21st October, to raise money to support Atticus, his Family and the Brain Tumour Charity, and here is the reason why.....
Atticus Feduchin-Pate is the 4 Year Old son of Blaize and Emily, and the big brother of Hemploe. He is also the nursery pal, and playmate of my own 4-Yr-Old son, Rudi.
In early July, we were heartbroken to hear from Atticus' parents, that he had been diagnosed with a rare, and incurable brain tumour called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Gliomas), with doctors giving him only nine months to live. Sadly, there is no cure right now for this type of tumour, with funding for research into new care and treatment limited due to the rarity of the condition.
Here is a link to more information on his condition:
Since his Diagnosis, Atticus has bravely endured intensive and unpleasant treatment to ease the swelling caused by the tumour, in order to give him and his family a limited period to enjoy time together, and to live as many of the dreams and have as many of the experiences, every little boy and his family should be given the chance to share.
I am running The Great South Run, to raise funds to help give Atticus and his family that ability, and that chance to enjoy their time together whilst they still can.
Atticus is such an awesome kid. And his family are so warm and kind. They are all going through so much, and with such bravery despite such devastating news.....and still, they are insistent that every penny raised through this run, and other events, will be split 50/50 with The Brain Tumour Charity to help raise awareness of this condition, and with hope for a cure in the future.
Thank you so much for reading, and for sharing. I would be most appreciative of your support and donations for such an important and urgent cause.

6 years agoHuge huge HUGE! Thank yous to everyone who supported this page, and (more importantly) Atticus, your donations and lovely words mean so much. I managed to plod round in 1hr and 16mins (rounded up!!)....and whilst I’ve posted better times (with younger legs) on that same run, it doesn’t really matter at all...because all that matters, is that we’re all together on this..... What matters is the little boy you were thinking of when you made that donation. So thanks again. You’re all so kind. A x
