I will be travelling to Ghana in June to work at an orphanage for a period of three weeks.

The children arrive at the orphanage at a very young age, as their mothers die in childbirth and have no one to look after them, they are abandoned children, street children and children of unstable parents. Although the children have food and shelter, it is individual attention that the little ones crave so much. It is in my hands to go and provide such beautiful children with the essential skills in life that will help them on their way to successful futures free from poverty and filled with the same opportunities as others. As a volunteer I will become a big sister to the children and assist with teaching the children, general childcare and engage in the daily operational runnings of the orphanage. My beloved prophet may peace and blessings be upon him stated: "Make the orphan come close to you, and be nice to him, and wipe his head and feed him from your food. That will cause your heart to be soft, and your needs to be fulfilled"
