On sunday the 2nd of september in the morning my sister 38+3 came in with reduced movements for the 13th time! Her baby has been having problems all way through but major problems from 30 weeks, every single time she came in she was monitored for 20 mins then sent home, she had been seeing the same consultant all the way through that grew a relationship with her and had planned to induce her at 37 because of the babys growth and problems with his cord BUT the day she came in for induction she saw a consultant first for a scan, a consultant who she hadnt seen before and knew nothin about her or the problems during this pregnancy! He decided that as the baby had gained a pound in 2 weeks he was happy to leave him to go full term, my sister explained what the plan was and that the reduced movements were getting less and less, he was rude and disrespectful and didnt take into consideration any of her problems and sent her on her way, so on a the sunday she came in as usual as she hadnt felt him, she got monitored and his heart beat was strong untill it started to dip, they got her to do possitions she shouldnt have done as she has a womb condition which THEY DIDNT HAVE RECORD OF! Which caused the baby to get distressed, in this time his heart had stopped in which she got rushed down to theatre for an emergency section, got fully prepared and was minutes away from holding her precious little boy untill a midwife came in and said ‘were just waiting on a consultant for a second opinion!!!’ My sister was left laying there not knowing what was going on for 25 minutes while his heart had stopped, the consultant came in to yes agree there was no longer a heart beat in which they didnt go forward with the section and told her he had passed and left him in there, planned to induce her for a normal delivery 3 days later! But she went into labour herself that evening, my sister delivered a beautiful sleeping angel the monday at 1:41pm and was told her placenta was stuck and would need to come out within the hour or they would have to take her down to theatre to remove it straight away to eliminate risk of infection but was left in her bed untill 7:15 pm! he had every single chance of survival but THE MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE was the absolute cause of this hell time my sister and her patrner have to go through and i wouldnt wish this on anyone, its about time they listened to women! We know our bodys and we know when something isnt right! And the lack of attention from the majority of the staff there on that one horrific day caused a precious soul to be lost! BUT i do also need to say a massive thankyou for the 2 midwives (lindsay and claire) that looked after my sister the evening of her delivery and the day after, we cant fault a single thing and its a shame that not all of the staff are as caring and compassionate as some but I have no trust or faith in the QA hospital now and we will get justice for our perfect angel!!!
