Story
Last year Katie Tinkler was rushed to the The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. The A&E doctors were not positive they could save her. They fought for 4 hours to stabilise her & then arranged for her to be moved to the Ecmo Unit at St Thomas's Hospital. There are only 5 centres in England commissioned to offer ECMO for severe acute respiratory failure in adults. This decision and the care she received thankfully saved her life.
All those who know Katie are aware of what an inspiration she is to us all & how hard she fought to stay alive when we all felt so helpless. Raising money to help purchase additional Ecmo units makes us feel less helpless & hopefully gives more peolpe like Katie a second chance.
It will be brutal "Racing to the Stones", a 60 mile Ultra Marathon on the 14th July 2018 but it will be nothing in comparison to Katie's journey. I am hoping that you will all support me in my quest to raise as much money as possible to contribute towards an additional Ecmo unit & at the same time say a massive thank you to the St Thomas's Ecmo team for saving the life of someone so wonderful.
PS. Sorry Katie it's not the best photograph but such great memories x
Thank you xx
