Here is briefly my story, and please find some updates below.

I've first lost my partner from cancer and then I’ve been facing cancer myself.

I’ve been tackling my deep grief and its unique loneliness, an exhausting and traumatic year of nursing, and associated stress/mental health conditions, despite being drained by financial and bureaucratic issues and by painful family relationships.
In Jan 2019 I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer metastatic to the bones. I should be around for years. It is incurable but treatable. My type of cancer responds better to a gentle approach with a NHS hormone therapy. It seems to be working, and it helps a lot finding cheap ways to improve my quality of life as well as to manage pain, energy and side effects.
I am also able to live all this thanks to the maintenance of a basic slow-paced and protected life, and thanks to some wonderful support - from the kindness of many people, from more specific and consistent assistance, and from experts. And the 20 vivid years with Frank keep nurturing me.

However it is even more unsettling to deal with all this without having at least some money to survive.
Gratefully my rent is covered but, once left with no savings, I’ve been struggling to pay for food and other expenses. I have several thousand pounds of debts and reach monthly the £1,000 limit of an arranged overdraft. Occasional donations and one-off grants are a salvation. I keep fighting to eventually get denied incomes. Going back into work is far from straightforward for various reasons.
