Story
With seeing a close relative suffer trom this disease I decided that with my next charity challenge I would treat the members of the local Parkinsons groups to something special to brighten their day. It’s easy to forget how much we take for granted until we start to lose the ability to function as we have done up until such time the disease takes a hold. When I have a final amount I can decide on the size of the treat. 🤩 but one thing is for sure I want to make the groups members feel spoilt and see smiley faces. I will be carrying out an Ultra Challenge to achieve this which will be walking 63 miles around Isle of Wight coast path continuously and have 20-33 hours to complete it. I have walked 26.2 miles a few times now but never anything like this or constantly through the night so am excited about this experience.

5 years agoI’d like to thank all my supporters for their very generous donations and helping me achieve more than I ever hoped for in reaching beyond my goal. With the cash donations I have raised just about £1300. This will give the members of the Barnstaple and District Parkinson’s UK group many smiles on their event day with lots of surprises even for the members that can’t make the day. Many thanks all again. 🤩🤩

5 years agoWell after being informed that our Isle of Wight B&B had cancelled our booking that was made 07/08/18 we have finally got to Lymington and secured another B&B. 😜🤩 phew! Only tomorrow left to get to the island and then the big off on Saturday 9am for the Ultra Challenge of walking 65.8 miles continuously. Stops for refreshments and toilet needs. Have to complete within 20-33 hours. Wish us luck & thanks for all your support. Many thanks for such positive backing from Lee Phillips who makes every day special for me. 💖💖🤩🤩🐝🐝👣👣👣👣
